3- FACT & FACT Plus (www.nfsu.ac.in/fact )
The Forensic Aptitude and Caliber Test (FACT) and FACT Plus are all-India assessments designed to evaluate the comprehensive aptitude and skills of postgraduate students in Forensic Science. Introduced in 2018, FACT serves as a screening test for students earning their degrees from various universities, reflecting their forensic science knowledge and certifying a minimum level of understanding. The FACT (Basic examination) evaluates candidates' grasp of fundamental concepts in pure sciences. In contrast, FACT Plus (an advanced examination) is for postgraduate candidates who have cleared NET, GATE, GPAT, or have relevant work experience, focusing on their aptitude for forensic science. FACT qualifications aim to serve as a qualifying criterion for recruitment by Forensic Science Laboratories (FSLs) and similar agencies. The test consists of two levels: FACT assesses candidates' skills in analyzing crime exhibits and interpreting results with basic training, while FACT Plus tests specialized personnel on handling precision instruments and deriving accurate results. Eligibility for recruitment for FACT-qualified candidates will depend on the criteria set by the recruiting organizations.
